help with a book please

my sister has asked me to find the name of a book she used to have

it was about a strange little character, slightly goblin like called yendel or something like that, i'm not sure if there was much of a storyline but the pictures were really surreal and vividly coloured. i vaguely remeber lots of oherworldy toadstools and crazy landscapes (by otherwordly i mean goblin/elf people world).

sorry it's not mcuh to go on but it was a long time ago!!!!

ha ha!!!!!!:) It was a book cause it was hard back so there :p . It might have had words too but I can't remember if it did or not, my sis has told me that he was a little boy, just really odd looking (i still stick by goblin like) and he went off through a forest on his own like a little tribal explorer

more info - possibly yendor as a name. lots of purple and scary monsters and trees. the monsters has big eyes. still not much to go on but can anyone help?????????
