View Full Version : Wacky Races- Please help
I used to love playing an animated Motor Race game based on something like Wacky Races although I don't think it was called Wacky Races !!??
It was about the same time as Top Gear Rally ... and i remember a level going through a jungle .... and mud ...and a lake ???
Please HELP !!
I would love to get it for the PC though this time .
Diddy Kong Racing?
No, but it was about that time .
They were both good games though.
Seem to remember a lotof muddy tracks .....
It looked like a Wacky Races race but just don't think that was the name of the game.
My guess as the cars are shaped like animals:confused::o
Last one, for now!
i know this one its called Top Gear Rally http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e145/furbie17/topgearrally.jpg
brilliant game i liked the milk truck and the ice cube on wheels =]
I searched a list of N64 games, but nothing sounded right:confused:
My moneys on the Mickey Speedway, cartoon characters racing, and I checked there's mud ,a lake and a forrest.
I just looked at that. Looks great fun, I'm off searching for an emulator now:p
:D:p I spent ages going though all the screen shots, it does look entertaining:)
Got one now, just going try and play it;)
Cool, full report required LOL
Looking for a better emulator, (i used Ninteen64) as it just rebooted my PC both times I tried to run it:mad:
 oh heck thats no good:eek:
Different Emulator, reboot number three..i give up:p
Dont blame you!! Probably rubbish anyway ;)
Tried third emulator.. didn't run it:o
A Thanks a lot everyone but still loking .
Where would I find a link to a list of ALL the N64 games ??
PS it was a similar setting to Top Gear Rally but the cars were crazy little WACKY looking cars ...... aghhhhhh!
EDIT huggie74 said "try here, list of all 387 games"
Right i tried that list ... no luck !!
II can only think that I must be on the wrongsystem !!!
The only other systems we had were Master system and MegaDrive .
Did they have a Wacky Race game on either of those systems ??
Jees I was so sure it was on N64 though .
I also seem to remember quite a few jungle / mud based tracks and one were your vehicle was transported on a RAFT over a lake !!!!!
Someone must know the name of this game !!
Initally thought it was a N64 game but seemingly not.
A Wacky Races (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wacky_Races_%28video_game%29) video game was produced in 1992 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992) for the NES (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Entertainment_System), IBM PC, ZX Spectrum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZX_Spectrum) and Commodore 64 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_64) in which the player took the role of Muttley, sent on missions from Dick Dastardly to defeat the other racers. A Mega Drive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Drive)/Sega Genesis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Genesis) game was intended to be released, but it was canned in development. In 2000 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000), more video games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_games) based on the cartoon were produced for the PC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_computer), PlayStation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation), PlayStation 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2), Game Boy Color (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_Color) and Sega Dreamcast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Dreamcast) systems. These were racing games. Voices for the video games' renditions of the characters included Jim Cummings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Cummings) as Dick Dastardly, Clyde, Private Meekly, Big Gruesome, Rock Slag, and Gravel Slag; Billy West (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_West_%28voice_actor%29) as Muttley and Little Gruesome, Janet Waldo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janet_Waldo) as Penelope Pitstop, John Stephenson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Stephenson) as Luke, Scott Innes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Innes) as Professor Pat Pending, Gregg Berger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregg_Berger) as the narrator, and Gregg Burson (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gregg_Burson&action=edit) as the Red Max, Sergeant Blast, Peter Perfect and Rufus Ruffcut. A new game called Wacky Races: Mad Motors (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wacky_Races:_Mad_Motors&action=edit) for the PlayStation 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2) was released by Blast on June 12th.
When you said 'Wacky Races-style game', I immediately thought it might be this - Street Racer.
If it was for the PS2 (or that generation of console/computer) then I can see the damn box in my head but the words are gone! It was a budget release and looked very much like Wacky Races (cell shaded graphics) but wasn't, they then released a proper wacky races game later.
It is now officially driving me nuts as I can't remember the name and google just won't cooperate and help me! :(
edit: Just noticed the "N64" part of the title! Bah, now they're both driving me mad!! :(
edit 2: Could it be a Sega Saturn Game (and arcade) called Power Drift (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTDUldWNfN4)?
Oh, was it a 3d view or top down? If top down view the description fits Micro Machines.
My first thought was Beetle Adventure Racing but it's probably not that. Cool game though.:)
We only had Master system , MegaDrive and Nintendo N64 .
I also seem to remember quite a few jungle / mud based tracks and one where your vehicle was transported on a RAFT over a lake !!!!!
Surely SOMEBODY must remember taking a car onto a RAFT and being transported to the other side of the lake mid-race ??
Anybody else ... LOL
Patience is a Virtue, often found in women, but seldom found in men.:p
;) at Daz, shhhhhhh LOL
True , very true !!
Well it wasn't Micro Machines although the graphics were similar - I really only remember jungle/ forest based tracks and as mentioned before lots of mud and the RAFT journey over a lake !!!!
