Eighties song about a hungry dog?

Been reading some ( pretty boring !) horror story but book had to go back to the library.

Anyways, this tale was set in the eighties and the guy referred to a song about a woman whose dog ate her

It was 'Nick' --either Cave or Lowe but can't remember --who released it but when I Google about a dog eating a woman in a song I'm getting millions of off target hits

and its from the 70's not the 80's. Its on his Jesus of Cool Lp

Just been looking it up and it was based on a real story about some silent movie starlet who died all alone and got chewed up by her bloody sausage dog
