I'm starting to go a bit nuts about this. When I was in my mid-teens (mid-eighties), I had a cassette by Otto Van Wernez with Madonna doing backing vocals (before she became famous). Two of the songs I remember were 'Cosmic Climb' and 'We are the Gods'.

Despite numerous searches on the net I can find no reference to this music whatsoever and beginning to think I imagined it. I'm not sure on the spelling of Otto Van Wernez but I have tried several different spellings but still come up with a big zilcher!

Was I having some major psychotic experience or something? So weird I can't find any reference.

I would give anything to hear these tracks again, so if anybody could help me out then I would be in your debt for a lifetime.

Thank you very much :)

One trick I've learned hunting tracks - if being precise doesn't work, get vague. There's a site called downloads.nl (nothing on there by the way) where punching in the artist's name yields no joy for a specific track, and then when you go by title, it has miraculously turned up.

And don't even get me started on the utter uselessness of Google when it comes to serious searching.

Wow!

This is unbelievable, I'm gonna be playing these all night.

It was obviously the serious mistake I made with the artist's name that threw me off.

This site never fails to amaze me and the great people that are here :). Thank you so much folks - you have made my day, week, month, year, decade, etc.

Woah! Party Time!!

CHEERS

Honestly, hearing these again has made me cry. These songs mean so much to me.

Such a quick response, so accurate. You all deserve medals. The drinks are on me.

Mine's a mojito!

Seriously, any sight of a Pimm's and I head for Ben Miller's house with a sledge hammer.

I know what you mean about finding old faves - I'm still hunting for Under the God by Tin Machine.

EDIT
How embarrassing. It's on Amazon for 69 pence.

As is:
