I vaguely remember the lyrics and details of this band from an Australian 80's music show on SBS " Rock around the World " .

Band is Scottish or somewhere in the UK, name something like White House or White Horse.

Video in at night in a junk yard ?

Lyrics something like " This is a world full of fantasy , this is a world full of wonder(?) ... show me the way to the real world .... show me, show me, show me, show me, show me the way to the real world ..."

I did find a band called Whitehouse from the 80s on Wiki, but they sound horrible!
Is it them?

The lyrics sound like The Real World by Men Without Hats. They're totally not Scottish though, they were from the US.

Whitehouse are indeed a challenging listen.
However, I'll never part with my vinyl of Cruise, call it an acquired taste!
They don't sound awful :(

Could it be the Australian band: Icehouse? They sounded pretty much like the Scottish band: Simple Minds in places.The video could be Great Southern Land,regarding filming at night?

Icehouse seem to have done a few videos with night and darkness involved,but i have found this video,which features him walking through a kind of messed up place.

Simple Minds are a scottish band,so maybe the presenter of the show mentioned the similarity in the voices of the singers?
