General chat about the best and worst bands of 70's, 80's and 90's. Who was your favourite band? Which band would you most like to meet?
Can anybody remember the 70's bubblegum pop group Beano? they had a minor hit " candy baby ". I have that single, but have had no luck finding out anymore about the band. Put Beano into any search engine and.... well you can guess what comes up
Mine was to see James at Alton Towers in 91/92. What was yours?
I've just rediscovered Roxette. They look seriously uncool to the eye now, but what tunes! The Look, Dressed For Success, It Must Have Been Love and Joyride. One of my favourite groups around '89 '90. Had 'the best of' album blasting out of my car in Newcastle today. Spot the sad 30-something :D
Who are the bands and artist now deceased/broke up you wanted to see but never got the chance. Top of my list would have to be Elvis, as a life long fan when he died i was devastated especially as i was saving to go to the U.S. to see him the following year. So my list has to include- ...

I really like his song China Doll, which is on one of my 80's DVDs. Reward by The Teardop Explodes has a good horn section too. :)
It will be a miracle if anyone remembers what Claude Francois sang in the 1970's. Something about tears and telephones. ??????
My Mum used to drive me mad playing this stuff. This singing group always seemed to appear on Saturday night T.V shows. They used to sing a French ballad type tune, what was it called..... ??? Also remember others in Mums collection:- Astrud Gilberto Barron Knights Neil Sedaka James...
2757 Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, Jordan Knight, Jon Knight, Joey McIntyre...NKTOB! Oh how I swooned and bought all the records. Who was your favourite? I was in love with Jon, but apparently he's gay . So THAT'S why he completely ignored my screaming requests to marry him from the...
Any Sparks fans on here? I was never into Donny/David/Rollers, it was only ever Sparks for me. I think I was the only Sparks fan in my school. They're on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on the 13th and play The Forum, Kentish Town, London on 20th March. If you haven't heard their latest cd -...
One of the more memorable performances I saw on Top Of The Pops in the late 70's was Yellow Dog, a band that was led by Kenny Young and Herb Armstrong who were both members of the group Fox a few years earlier. They had only one chart hit with "Just One More Night" where Kenny was dressed up as...

1) Physical Graffiti Led Zeppelin 2) In Rock Deep Purple 3) On Your Feet Or On Your Knees Blue Oyster Cult 4) Benefit Jethro Tull 5) Black Sabath Black Sabath
Not everyones cup o tea but a band IMO had a major influence on modern music. They blew away the twee pop music of the 60's and were the gene of 70's glam rock and the 80's electro pop
Anyone remember Big Johns Rock n Roll Circus they made a few albums I've never come across their music on the radio or anywhere. The albums always came out at the drunken parties some great tunes, Put the light on me was one I remember well. John Goodison wrote songs for Mud and the Bay City...
Does anyone remember or like mr.big! I think they are amazing, but they dont seem to sell mr.big tops anywhere! Anyone have any idea where i could find one?
Does anyone on here remember this band? I only first heard them in 2008 on the compilation album "Velvet Tinmine" with their song "Big Wheel Turning" which is the best track on there and I want to hear other stuff they did. There doesn't seem to be much information about them on the internet...
They hit the scene with a big splash and have a hit song and then... nothing, nada, zip, zilch. So what happened? where are they now? do we care? One "One hit wonder" that comes instantly to mind is Katrina and the Waves - "Walking on Sunshine".
