  1. A Memory Shared.

A place for you to post any childhood pictures, photo's or memories when no where else seems to fit. I remember someone once saying dressing up costumes weren't up to much back in the 70's, I have to say I think I might have to agree. 1245 1246 1247 1248

  2. Claim to fame as a kid?

Anyone been featured on TV shows/comics/magazines as a kid. Mine would have to be Whizzer & Chips using my 'nasty' design to defeat Super Steve in Super Steve vs NME Nasties. Mine was the 'Volcanic Porridge Monster' and the story was about people in Scotland cancelling their orders for...

  4. Free Binder with Issue One!

We all know that the partwork magazines are a bit of a con - "This collection builds into a wonderful library of...." Yada yada. I have a couple of them now from the 80s that I've since purchased, 'INPUT' and 'The Unexplained'. Both of them are a great read. Anyone else hang onto theirs...

  7. x ray specs

Does anyone remember x ray specs adverts in magazines? Supposedly you could see through peoples clothes and skin right through to the bones, not sure if they were only sold in the U.S as i seem to remember the price was in dollars.

  8. Music Mags - 70s

Evening All, OK, I'm mid forties (thanks for the birthday reminder the other week DYR) and to cut a long one short, I'm remembering 70's music magazines. I used to get Popswop regularly when I could. At £0.03 per issue, it was a challenge, until Mam & Dad agreed to add it to the paper bill. It...

  9. Childrens Audio Cassette Tape Collection (late 80s maybe or 90s)

I have an odd request. I am having a difficult time locating a set of audiotapes. As a child, my mother would put me to bed and I would typically listen to an audio cassette tape from a pre-packaged collection. To the best of my knowledge, the tape collection came as a set of about ten...

  10. 1970's swivel stud football boots

I know Alan Ball and a few other wore white hummel football boots in the early 70's, but does anyone remember the brand who produced the football boots with the circular dial at the front of the boot that was supposed to allow you to swivel without the studs moving. They were endorsed by Alan...

  12. Chimps Tea Party

Is anyone else on here old enough to have seen this event at London Zoo? It apparently ended in 1972, but was a regular event from the 1930s. I saw it only once, and found it lots of fun to watch at the time. I was also lucky enough to see Guy the gorilla and Chi Chi the panda, who were huge...

  14. Here comes my body casper

Hello everyone. Does anyone know where I can buy a 'here comes my head casper' talking doll? My husband says it's the only toy he can really remember from being a kid and he raves about it. Want to get him one as prezi...strange but true lol. He'll treasure it. I have found lots of pics on line but...

  15. Star Wars ringbinder

Does anyone remember going to school with an A4 ringbinder with a big photo of an X-Wing in space firing purple lasers? It had no Star Wars logo as far as I can remember and may well have been exclusive to WHSmith so I guess it's a bit of a long shot. Such a cool pic and one of my favourite bits of...

  16. Scratch and Sniff

I used to love scratch and sniff stickers. Banana was the best and pineapple wasn't too bad either! But I still remember how revolting the Pizza one was. I covered my homework diary in them. I had a banana scratch and sniff t-shirt too!! What a rip-off. One wash and it stunk of Persil, not...

  18. Glue

Does anyone remember Affixofix Glue? Not that I'm into sniffing glue or anything but it smelt just like almond, really nice. It came in a small round pale blue and white tub. Inside the lid was a little spatula that you used to get the white coloured glue paste out of the tub. It was fab stuff...

Remember the glowing tubes? They started back in the 80's onto early 90's... The went from orange, to green, to yellow, etc... Everybody had a glowing tube at some point... specially the girls, they like to wrap them-selves with the tubes and show of to the boys. Hehe.
