We called it pin art.(still widely sold, £12.99 at Argos)
Hey peeps ,
Bought a gadget that always fancied from years ago .
It's about 7" x 5" with hundreds of little nails / pins and you lay it down on an object and an imprint appears where the pins are pushed up ...... poor description ..... what are they called and what are they worth / prices ?
Thanks !

I remember seeing them in Heelas - aka John Lewis Reading and lots of other places too - was all the rage when they first appeared and I'm sure they used them in the intro to Ruth Rendell Mysteries as well...
I've always known them as 3D PinBoards. I think there may have been a company name called PinPressions. I can't remember when they first appeared, 80's probably. Still made now and all over the place so not very valuable I'm afraid.
Cheers,
Finnthedude.
I've only ever seen one in the 'flesh' and that was yesterday .
Bought it in a charity shop for £2.50 . Perfect condition
It's rather interesting to see what objects work best or give the best ' impression , as it were
Thanks for the replies !!
Here's one put to good use.
The Trickster On The Roof
When these things first came out they were only in the top end shops. Then they started to turn up everywhere.Even Woolworths stocked them at one time.Must of been tens of thousands of them out there if not more.I got one for a christmas presant.Found it amusing for a while then gave it away. They were featured on a program as an article once just trying to remember if it was tomorrows world or blue peter or some other program.
