  • Wooden Telegraph Poles.....disappearing

Was watching old episode of Streets of San Francisco and there was a scene near a Wooden Telegraph pole.
Not seen one of these for ages......
Must still be around in rural locations, but they seem to be a disappearing object.

I remember the yellow BT lorries with poles on the back driving around, and the men with spiked shoes climbing up them.

And the way the lines sagged in summer.

Witchita Linesman celebrated the humble telegraph pole

Trouble is nowadays the gypo's would chop them down for fire wood lol

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.
