  • The Paper Lads - Late 70's Kids Show

Pre Byker Grove and a peer of Grange Hill The Paper Lads followed the adventures of a group of Paper Boys/Girls in Newcastle.
I remember this as one of the rare programmes made by Tyne-Tees.

Also, the theme song "Back Home Once Again" was performed by Renaissance (Of Northern Lights - Fame)

Anyone else remember this? Only 14 were made.
I go back to the original Jethro Tull - Yes! The seed drill inventor!

Yes, I remember it. Great series. Here's a rather nice YT link:

YouTube - Renaissance - The Paper Lads

Piece of TV Trivia: The writer of this episode, (and several others) is Ian Cullen, better known for playing D.C. Skinner in Z Cars, for three years in the 1970s.

I was sure I remembered this but looking at the opening sequences it doesn't spring readily to mind.
The only thing to look forward to is the past

            Brilliant series

Just received as a gift, entire series of fourteen episodes on a two disc set on DVD

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Made by Tyne Tees I assume - I suppose that Supergran was a 1980s equivalent of it.

I hope it has subtitles just in case you can't understand the Geordie accents.

I love the rough, bleak Northern street scenes

I don't remember the show but I do know about the Renaissance theme. In fact, it was on the same album (A Song For All Seasons) as "Northern Lights" and was released as the single before it. It did not chart.
