  • Wrong lyrics

When you was a child, did you ever completely sing the wrong lyrics to a song but they sounded just like it. (well to you anyway)

I used to love Frankie...Sister sledge and would sing away quite happily

    Only i used to sing:

"Oh, how you brought me down - down down. hot dinner was all around, "

    When it should of been:

"Oh, how you brought me down - down down. All I did was runnin' around - around.

You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille, four hundred children and a crop in the field

Yes Danny, but didn't 'crop' sound more like it had an 'a' instead of an 'o'.

        Well Kaz,

When he sang crop I used to think he was singing the one syllable word for a male chicken/rooster that rhymes with lock ( you can't post it in here cos of filters )

There was one I always sang along to about a 'sideboard' in Bohemian Rhapsody but its too faint to remember now

They don't care about us - Michael Jackson "everybody dog poo" you can't miss it.

Always - Bon Jovi "This romeo is bleeding, you can see his blood, it's nothing but some PEANUTS". It's there if you listen for it.

I'm sure you'll all remember Bonnie Tyler's 'It's A Heartache' which started with the immortal line :

'It's a hard egg, nothing but a hard egg'!

I too thought it was 'four hundred children' I was thinking 'ffs no wonder Lucille did a runner!'
In 'The Police' song 'Material world' it goes 'are spirits in a material world'....I thought he was singing 'upstairs in a material world'.
In Neil Diamond's 'Forever In Blue Jeans' I was convinced he was singing 'for reverend blue jeans'.
This one is embarrassingly recent...in Amy Winehouse's 'Valarie' I thought she was singing 'come on over by the way'...then after a while i thought it was 'come on over via the rail'. I didn't know the name of the song, even if I did, I don't think I'd have copped.
