  • Daily / Sunday Sport RIP

I was slightly surprised this was still running.

The silly headlines were much talked about 20-15 years ago, but after the mid 1990s I the D/SS seemed to slip out the public eye.

My uncle used to have a book of the sillier headlines.

My friend's dad once was in the Sunday sport as they did an article on him when he was a world champion at blowing up hot water bottles. Of course they got a topless model to pose with him and as they did the photoshoot across the road from my house i got to watch it
The only thing to look forward to is the past

Reminds me of a hilarious situation at work.
I asked the boss if he wanted me to go and get him a copy of the daily sport and he told me he didn't have time to crack one off (Don't ask!). So this had me laughing so much I had to sit on a pallet we were working on. One of the girls later asked me what was funny so i told her it was a man's thing.
        WELCOME TO HELL!!!

My son had the book - it was really daft - but interesting.

I had a summer job working as the gopherboy getting sandwiches and what not. One of the guys used to order this. Use to feel a bit of a fool buying all the high brow papers for the office workers, then the red tops for the shop floor workers, then the Sport for the creepy guy.

It was the summer of 2000 before I got my printing apprenticeship. I got paid, but it was a meagre wage. The paper I got was The Mirror. Other members of the family used to buy other papers and it seemed a bit silly us all getting the same one.
