  • Clunks and the clones, or something like that.

In my youth back in the UK I had a very cool board game that was called something like "The clunks and the clones"

Several players played, you had two different pieces to control, clunks and clones. The clunks were larger and rubbery, if they moved on top of an opposing players clone the smaller harder clones got collected in the rubbery innards of the clunk. A clunk could hold several clones at once. At the centre of the board was a press, somehow clunks got sent to the press where all the collected clones got squeezed out. The idea as I recall was to guide your clones to a safe area while trying to stop the other players from doing the same.

I can not find any mention of this game anywhere on the net, nor can I find any other person who even remembers it.

Anybody recall what this game was actually called, and perhaps still have it?

    Thanks for reading,

    Michael

Thanks for the assist, but unfortunately no that isnt it.

The press was a large ish devise in the middle of the board that physically squeezed the rubbery "clunks" if that's what they were called and released the hard plastic clones collected inside.

It wasn't from a magazine, it came boxed with multiple pieces and a board.

It's frustrating because I can see it as clear as day in my head...

              oh my god!

I have JUST posted the following on a facebook retro page...

              this is what I put...

''Ok. Growing up, I had a boardgame (in the 80s) called, if I remember correctly, 'The Klunks & Clones'. It was a yellow board, with a yelow plastic thing in the middle. You had cute rubber smiley faces with big feet that you had to move across the board towards the center machine - once there, you placed the rubber monster thingy in it, and when pressed down, little cute plastic 'baby' monsters popped out that you then had to move the the outer corners. Does ANYBODY know what I'm talking about, & if so do you have pics to prove this was a real game & that I'm not mad?''

THEN i find this post, so have registered to confirm that neither of us is mad.

              THEN i see the pic!!!

glad i'm not the only one who had this game!

              (and 99p? you lucky man...)
