  • Casio Invaders Calculator

    Hi All

A freind of mine had the Casio MG880 "Invaders" calculator......

    I wanted one.....

When I got to the shop all they had was the "credit card" sized version. So I bought that!

It wasnt as good as the MG880.....the keys were really over sensitive touch ones....

But now, looking on the Net for a reference or a picture of the version I had has turned up nothing!! I can find the MG880 but not the one I had. Any help would be appreciated...

    What was the serial number?

I am beginning to think I have made it up!

    Thanks

            Re: Casio Invaders Calculator

Again....Thank you DYR!!!! another piece of my childhood forgotten about.
I had the Casio MG880 "Invaders" calculator, I think I may still have it somewhere.
The brilliant thing about having my memory jogged is that I completely remember how the calculator looked but had totally forgotten the invaders game element of it, now that I've looked at it on youtube I also remember that you could set it to musical mode and play tunes on the keys, I think I managed to get as far as playing "Oh when the saints go marching in" on it.

I wonder if I can find it?

Thank you Bakermuk for the memory!!!

These things go for a bomb, i've even seen a game calculator in the cabinet of a charity shop for £40! There are better ways of spending money, cant see that these are that great.

                  Re: Casio Invaders Calculator

I think I would just like one again....and, like other things that I have bought that I used to have, I really cant say why I wanted them....I just did.....and when I got them I looked at them for a while and then put them away in a safe place. But there is something very comforting about knowing that now, whenever I want to, I can hold something and look at something that I cherished 30-40 years ago. Can anyone else relate to that?

My quest to find a MG880 continues....
