  • R.I.P. Jimmy Savile

Very sad to hear the news that Jimmy has died at the age of 84

He was a big part of my childhood on radio and tv, mainly with of course Jim'll Fix It.

I agree very sad news indeed, he never fixed it for me when I wrote in, but I still loved watching the show!!

He never fixed it for me either, Heather, but then I never wrote in
      I always meant to though.
I wonder if anyone on here did go on the show.

RIP A true entertainer. To do that much for children makes him one of the good ones in my book.

He became quite reclusive the older he got - didn't see much of him on tv as you used to...

any idea what the last show he did was.

cannot remember him doing anything in the last 5 yrs.

                sad indeed.

                      Re: R.I.P. Jimmy Savile

Hear Hear to all of the above- he was a terrific gift to the world, a really kind man and very funny too. I once saw him jogging past a 'phone box I was in at Stoke Mandeville back in the April of '86- he didn't see me, and I didn't like to hail him in case I threw him off his pace.
I once wrote to 'Jim'll Fix It' when I was 7 asking to go and see the ruins of Pompeii- nothing doing on that occasion, though at least I didn't get a 'Toot' from that horn, which I always thought was very poor compensation!
By the way, how DID Jim manage to fix it for so many people??!!
