One game I used to play when at my friends house was Hotel.

It was a bit like Monopoly but instead of groups of streets to develop you had to build up hotels phase by phase.

While it was fun to play I never remember winning a game, I always seemed to run out of money by having to pay lots of high bills to stay at my friend's hotel.

I've managed to find a couple of things about it online:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel_%28board_game%29

    http://www.hotelboardgame.eu.pn/hotel/

It doesn't seem to be in production, certainly Argos & WHS don't have in on their sites.

We had this game in the 70s and has you say it was very similar to monopoly. but the hotels were on a bigger scale and made of cardboard.

Rings a bell with me too- I get a feeling that it may have been discontinued in the early '80s, but there'll surely be some old editions knocking about on eBay.

Until I found the fansite I never knew there was an earlier version made by Denys Fisher.

MB seemed to reissue a few DF games in the 1980s with the odd tweek or 2.

I had a look on ebay as well, they seem to be in demand.
