Before The Monkees Davy Jones appeared in musicals in the West End and on Broadway. Here he is as The Artful Dodger in Oliver (1964)

The Monkees was a huge part of my childhood. Daydream Believer is one of my favourite pop songs. Goodbye Davy.

The Monkees were a huge part of my childhood - Great entertainment and, despite what some might say about a "manufactured band" - Great music! Thanks for the memories Davey Jones - RIP

I know this is 5 years since, but I never knew that Davy had passed away

Yeah The Monkees was a bit before my time, but I grew up (sort of following them on and off at varying times) and can't believe I did not Davy had passed away

I recall seeing footage of Davy of say an age of may-be early to mid 30s that made Davy look about 127-19 even then. I bet a lot x times many girls fancied Davy "back in the day" no doubts
