  • My mummy always said ....!@#$!?

A rapper had a hit in the early 90's, maybe 93-94 with this take on a vintage children's programme. The slogan borrowed would then descend into instant expletives.

Typical of the time it was catchy and rude, does anyone know?

    Charley Says.
public information films in the 70's.
The British group The Prodigy famously sampled Charley for their UK 1991 hit single Charly, reaching number 3 in the UK Singles Chart.

Hi, thanks for the reply but it was not The Prodigy. I am sure it was a black rapper, who specifically used the beginning of the centence and turned it into a profanity
      , as the topic suggests.

Thanks for trying though, I will start to search for "Charley Says" now
