  • Arrows

I did this in my intro earlier on, but in the wrong place, so here goes, i loved the Arrows back in the 70's and am on a mission to try and find anything that is available, i'd love to get my claws on lead singer Alan Merrill's material and i know he has done a fair bit since around 1969, anyone help out there, or is this a "Touch Too Much" great single!
Also i'd love to find out more or in fact anything about the kids show(animated) called "Joe" i believe he lived in a transport cafe with his mother and father and others.
Plus does anyone know much about "Bleep and Booster" if any recordings of the shows are available, i think they were shown during Blue Peter.along with "The Boy From Space" or was that a schools tv thing?
Millions of other things to remember coming up. Hope to get some help. Cheers. Scott.

I vaguely remember that the drummer was from Preston, can't remember his name though. A Touch Too Much was a great record though, I'm pretty sure they also sang I Love Rock not Roll.

      Re: Arrows

Alan Merrill is a friend of mine on Facebook, and he still does Arrows songs with his trio to this day. See http://www.alanmerrill.com

Terryi27, indeed they did and also wrote it. Alan told me that he did not see any royalties from the song until it was covered by Britney Spears. I have also written a song called "Hey Little Boy" which is a rap/rock number based on the chord sequences in the chorus.

Paul Varley, who is sadly no longer with us. RIP. <3

That's cool. They were a bit before my time, but I've heard their songs since. "Hard Hearted" is a nice song, dunno if that was a single. "Touch Too Much" is a real stomper.

            Re: Arrows

I too loved the Arrows. The only other hit I remember of theirs was "This Is My Last Night With You", which I remember was out in early '75.

              Re: Arrows

Alan Merrill recently released a new album called "Cupid Deranged Redux", which came out on 14th February. It contains new songs by him as well as some reworkings of Arrows classics.

I'm no longer on Faecebook but, when I was, Alan was a "Friend" of mine, too
