Who remembers dialing 1 6 on the phone to listen to the weeks chart hits?

Here in the uk in the late 60's & early 70's you could dial 1 6 on your telephone to listen to the weeks chart hits

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Was this the same as Dial a Disc?

FOUND THIS ONLINE SOUNDS SIMILAR VERY SIMILAR.

              Dial-a-Disc 1971

Dial-a-disc was a service ran by the GPO (now BT) enabling callers to listen to a song down a telephone line.
