  • Halogen, ceramic, and induction hobs

Around 1970 it was a choice of a gas or electric hob, and electric hobs usually had spiral shaped elements unless one paid extra for a solid hotplate. When did halogen, ceramic, and induction hobs first appear on the market? They were around in the 1990s and had an upmarket image as they were quite expensive.

My family got a new cooker in 1985 with a halogen & ceramic hob, which seemed space age compared to the cooker we had before.
