New He-Man Movie

It's been reported in the papers that Brad Pitt is in the running to play He-Man in a remake of the 80's cartoon/movie. Now, is it just me or does this seem like the daftest choice for He-Man?

He-Man, as the name suggests, is meant to be a big buff fella, whereas Brad Pitt is a scrawny pretty boy who's past his sell-by-date and is in his mid 40's. Is it a case of bringing in a big name that's popular with the ladies?

Gerard Butler from 300 has also been mentioned, which seems like a better choice to me, so in your opinion which should it be?

I agree - too skinny. BTW Heather, how old is that photo? He don't look like that now. It should be He-Man that lives in Castle Grey Skull not He-Old Man living in Castle Grey Hair

I remember going to see the first he-man film at the cinema. It was ok, bit cheesey now, but alot of the features we love from the cartoon were left out. He-man didn't transform (change clothes) from Adam, and no Cringer. But they can do that now - seen Primevel?
The technology's there, if the script is.

Back when Masters of the Universe first appeared on shelves, there was no Prince Adam at all. He Man's power came from the bandolier he wore, not the sword.

As for casting, urgh. Rather have Vin Diesel in a wig to get the look right. Also, they should have the guts to set it all in Eternia - the Earth setting was pants!
