Just been watching Tony Blackburns Sensational 70s on Magic the top 3 were

    3 Blondie Heart of Glass
    2 The Village People YMCA
    1 Abba Dancing Queen

For me Dancing queen is the ulimate pop song ever written , so i'd go along with that as No 1, but my own top 3 is

    3 Gerry Rafferty Baker Street
2 Ian Drury Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick

    Whats your top 3?

Ohhh I long for the days we use to go out for a good old 70's night!!(in the 90,s)
What a great question mike, but I need a top 10 at least, but the ones guaranteed to get us on the dance floor were-

3 The bee gees- night fever
    2 Ottawan D.I.S.C.O
1 gotta go with Dancing Queen-Abba

SO hard to just pick three..
          so i'll pick 6
          chart ones.
Abba. Name of the game (a masterclass in songwriting)
Wild Cherry.. Play that funky music (you MUST dance!)
Village People..YMCA (could ONLY have come from the 70's)

          best "others"
          Fox..Only you can (fantastic song)
          Cockney Rebel..Tumbling Down (class)
Gilbert O'Sullivan..Nothing Rhymed (sub mcCartney, but a great song)

              Re: Sensational 70s

Ooh, tricky one this. So many great tunes to choose from. I go with as my top 3:

              1. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama
              2. T. Rex - Metal Guru
              3. Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) - Elton John

...and that's without choosing any from my love of disco/funk!!!
