  • 70s Glow in the dark toy

Hi all - just found this place and I hope you can answer a few things that are bugging me. First I remember getting some kind of glow in the dark figures in about 1973, they were made of a soapy kind of material and were called Ghost Globber Green ( a ghost - natch ) Panicky Pink (an owl - why is that scary ? ) and Batty Blue (a bat) also included in the pack was a bottle of glow in the dark paint called 'Lightning Bug Glow Juice' but I cant for the life of me remember any more about them - anyone else remember them ?

Secondly I had some kind of legoish construction toy - a bit like technical lego but not compatable. Again this would be early 70's and it was bought in Tescos

    Cheers

Post they were discussed started here

and the threads went on for several pages !!

.......and as for your Lego type bricks I think you are refering to K'Nex who are incidentally celebrating their 15th anniversary at the moment

        Hiya

I too had lightning bug glow juice, it was a present from my brother and as I recall it came by itself. We painted a face on the inside of the bedroom door which frightened my mum when she came to say goodnight to us, and I remember some got spilled onto the sheets - which never washed out.

Do you reckon it was radioactive - I have since heard a lot of 'glow' stuff was.

I have mentioned this juice to loads of people but no one has heard of it - I was beginning to think I was unique in owning it.
