  • Alcoholic beverages

For some reason I kept some old (beer and cider) bottles when I was younger, found them when I was at my folks so here's some pics of some (early) 90s bottles:

Cider (not sure which of these are still around):

    Beer:

Those that are still around may have different labels i'd assume. One of the Bud Ice ones was the very first design, before they were available in the UK we used to buy them off a mate in the US airforce for 5 quid a crate of 24!

It was early 90's when I also came of age (1992)
Alcho pops were all the rage, along with the yuppie wine bars, we of course stuck to the good old pub, Lemon Hooch springs to mind, or if we were just out to get plastered (didn't take a lot) Woodpecker Cider or Lager and black, infact we didn't stick to one drink it was something different each round.

          Blue Bols?

Ah the pain in trying to get a "Green B******d" in one of our regular haunts (half strongest lager, half strongest cider and a dash of Blue Bols), the barmaid would be amazed at how she put a blue drink in the "near snakebite" and it went green. She'd then spend ages showing everyone before you'd actually get it. This was before they banned snakebite in pubs/clubs though.

Two Dogs lemonade always reminds me of when I was at the Redback Tavern (Acton) with a mate (gigging there) and we went into the mens to find two (rough looking) girls in there, one had a "two dogs" t shirt on, so my mate commented "Nice T-shirt, you get it made specially?" They didn't get it!

Great as I say we had it with our orange juice, goes a very funny merky green colour, but tastes lovely! Or it did way back then...

They ARE half pints, or 330ML, but in tall glasses.
Even I could not drink 11 pints on the trot!, and I love my drink
