  • Timothy Whites

Does anyone remember Timothy Whites? It was like a small electrical shop but sold lots of different stuff too. I particularly remember going there to buy Thermos Flasks!! (What strange memories I have!)

Powder compacts always remind me of my Nana

The more I look at these Ads and pages the more it fills me with wonder that things have not changed as much as we tend to think, Most of the kitchen ware would not look out of place in todays cupboards/kitchens.

My lasting memory of Timothy Whites is being asked to choose a Dinky/Corgi car as a gift from a visiting aunt and uncle. I was torn between two - the Green Hornet's Black Beauty with firing missiles and bits that stuck out of the sides and a far more ordinary red American car with little aerials that came up out of the boot. For some strange reason known only to my daft child self I went with the latter, regretting it ever since.
