  • help?? Two shows...mystery space boy & disfigured puppet...

    Hi everyone,
I have been racking my brain trying to find out about 2 shows I saw as a child...early 80's

    1. I saw this show at school...it was about a strange mystery 'boy' that appeared on earth...he was blonde, looked a little freaky and wore a blue kinda lycra spacy outfit...and I think he had to try and find his way home or something. I think the 'space boy' was actually a puppet of some description, but looked very human (but my young mind could have played tricks on me). I have a vague recollection of it being called something like

    The blue boy
boy from the blue planet...or something like that?

I remember him appearing on a stone pebble beach...but not much else I can remember

    2. There was this show about schoolkids kinda like Grange Hill I think, but there was this one short ugly/disfigured school kid (the only puppet in the show...rest were actors) that used to wear a little maroon cap and I think tried to get the kids to do mischief...it was a strange show, and the little ugly puppet kid used to freak me out...this kid always appeared in the dark...

any help in identifying these show's I'll be eternally grateful!

    Cheers
    Justin

      In answer to Q1...

I beleive you are referring to a children's programme that was called "Sky". It was on ITV I think. I remember that Sky was boy from another world and for some reason every now and then his eyes went completely bright blue. Your post made me do a google search and came up with the website below and synopsis:

"A young time-traveller from another dimension, Sky, is thrown into our universe by a black hole. He's befriended by two young children but finds that his presence on Earth causes nature - personified by the mysterious Goodchild - to fight back, like anti-bodies battling a virus. Sky and the children must try to locate the Juganet, the gateway back to his own dimension, before nature destroys him."

      Hope that helps

Ahh Look and read... absolute classic. It used to on every Tuesday and Friday and we never missed an episode at school. I remember them doing a series about a perigrin falcon called skyhunter. The end of each episode was a cliffhanger. BRILLIANT!!!!

I think the second programme is either Palace Hill, (a spin-off from another show called Your Mother Wouldn't Like It), or it could be Behind The Bikesheds. I only vaguely remember both of them but that puppet thing sounds very familiar.

Know this is an old thread but one of the reasons i came to this site was to try and find out the name of that programme. Always remembered the thin man aswell but for some reason thought it was the tall man. Used to love watching it. Ah good old memories.
