There's a classic clip which is rolled out every so often of a couple of St. John's Ambulancemen falling about in the hay at the bottom of an obstacle beam after one rider came of the beam and landed in the hay. Peter Purves claims - whilst laughing - that it's "like the Keystone Cops!"

'Kick Start' had a jaunty little theme tune by a group called Mr. Walkie-Talkie.

The first thing I thought of when I read the title of this thread was the poor kid squashing his plums on the handlebars, thought it was hilarious at the time, I bet he didn't though!

I mostly remember it being on during the school holidays. There were both junior & adult versions.

I was trying to remember if Ron Pickering presented Kickstart at one time, or if I'm mixing it up with We Are The Champions.

Ron Pickering was We are the Champions, I'm sure Kickstart was always Peter Purves

Oh to be a kid again with a can of Top Deck on a hot summer day, now that would be good.
