  • Twilight Teaser Lipstick

Twilight Teaser was the shade name of a bright-pink, slightly two-tone lipstick very popular in the 80s. It went great with the Lady Diana haircut and a casual tank top, *****-bow blouse, pleated skirt and slingbacks or canvas slouch boots! And don't forget the electric blue mascara! Apparently Boots No 7 brand does a Twilight Teaser lipstick, but it's not so bright as it once was.

    Ah. 1980-8?.
I was living in central London, and was a male much exposed to the full "Sloane Ranger" / Lady Diana look:
    (do read that carefully!)

The hair, cardigan, blouse with small embroidered collar,
String of pearls, long skirt showing an inch of embroidered petticoat.
(Were those real petticoats or just a strip attached to the skirt? Never dared ask)

And pixie boots (but looking at pictures that's a very variable term, these days...) These were more uniform: almost all mid-heel, short, but with a small pirate or turpin cuff. It was almost a uniform, for a while.

To think that overlapped with the "jumpsuit a la Sheena Easton" (at its worst with white accessories), but that was less seen on Bishopsgate or Brompton road. Still seen, mind you.
