  • Help with a peanut bar

In the early eighties i remember eating by the ton a bar of peanuts that was wrapped in either caramel or toffee. It came in a clear brown wrapper with orange wording on it but for the life of me i cant remember what its called.
I thought it was Nutty bar but having just seen a pic of nutty its not that one.
    Any ideas.

You are spot on, it was the Nutty bar ad discussed and described exactly as you remember it
The nutty bar I found and posted was not the right one, infact I will remove it

By using the paperclip, that allows you to attach from your pc or the mountain picture allows you to post from sites like photobucket

this is what the nutty bar looked like

To quote Jolima, Fatboy and Daz. All three make the same statement on the defunct thread

They were in a brown plastic/see through wrapper, with the word NUTTY in gold/orangy coloured writing.

My Gran used to stockpile sugar, typhoo tea and strangely Nutty bars just in case there was another war. She used to have the old stye terraced house and one of the alcoves next to the fireplace was a floor to ceiling cupboard. The top half had the sugar and the bottom half the tea. The Nuttys were kept in a drawer in her sideboard.

Loved Nutty bars, but no doubt stopped producing them because of the cost of nuts.

If you notice in boxes of chocolates now, they are mostly pralines and truffle centres because of the costings.
