  • If you could spend six months in the past

If you could spend six months in the past which year would it be.

For me it would be 1976.
I was born in 74 so dont really remember much of the seventies,so i would love to spend 6 months in the hottest year to date.
First it would be off to woolies to check out the sweet dept. then off to the toy dept(yes i am a big kid) then spend the rest of the summer in local beer gardens getting drunk for under £5.
I would also be tempted to visit my childhood house, but that seems a bit Back to the future/life on mars.

It would have to be 1976 just so I could see Jaws on the big screen again

1976 was a special year. Not just because of the heatwave, but it also snowed in June!

      Anyone else remember that?

I remember somebody else saying that last week, that sounds impossible especially with the heatwave.

My parents were on a canal holiday when there was snow that summer.

There's plenty of times I wouldn't mind revisting, though I can't think of a particular 6 month stretch which in particular.

Summers seem to be the favourite times to remember, even ones in my late teens I'm quite nostalgic for.

I would be tempted to say the summer 1974, as that's the time I most fondly remember as a child. But I'd risk my memories of the time being ruined if I was seeing it through adult eyes. So maybe I'd go back to the year I was born; 1961. The swinging sixties in their infancy. Amazing.

I think I'd like to go back to the last 6 months of 1981.

The summer holidays of 1981 were great for me, attending a local play scheme with different activities and sports tournaments ech day.

Winter 1981 was great too, I rememeber it was really cold in Decemeber, and we were playing on the frozen river.

Not to mention the music in 1981 was great, twas a good year

I would go back to the summer of 89, and I'd walk straight past the B+++h in the nightclub,
who for the last 2 and a half years of the 3 and a half year relationship made my life utter
ell and cost me in the guts of £7000

This might sound geeky but I'd like to go back to see Jesus! Or alternatively back to London when Jack the Ripper was about. Is that weird?

Well if you're weird then so am I!

I've had an obsession with JTR since I was a kid and would love to go back to 1888 and solve the crime. LOL!

It could only be around the '74-'78 mark and if I could take Oggy and the Kids back with me to spend the summer holidays walking the lanes with my Nan one last time.

I wouldn't mind going back to 1966 to watch England win the World Cup. Cos THATS not likely to happen again is it? LOL!
