  • Best Intros

My favourite intro of all time is probably Money For Nothing by Dire Straits.
Closely followed by Buffalo Soldier, Bob Marley.

    What's yours?

Hu, ho, hum, there many intros that I really like...
I can't remeber all of them, so I will reply again as I do.
But right now I can think of...

Coming back to Life - Pink Floyd
Tango in the Night - Fleetwood Mack
Livin on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
          Unforgettable Fire - U2
Is your love strong enough - Roxy Music
          Coming Down - The Cult

          ...and there are many more.

Michael Jackson had a good line in intros, my brother interpreted the start of Dirty Diana as being an alien spaceship landing.

Prince also has a few, When Doves Cry is certainly a standout.

Queen is Dead by The Smiths, great intro to both the song and the album as a whole

It was actually listening to all the great Michael Jackson songs on at the moment that got me thinking about this thread in the first place.
                  He had some fab intros.

Mother of Pearl by Roxy Music ... frantic lead guitar work by Manzanera then it softens to Biryani Ferrari's crooning ...

                          Re: Best Intros

Maybe not the best of songs....( tho I admit I like The Carpenters track ) but I think these 3 have very memorable intros and deserved a mention.

Einstien a go go - Landscape.

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft - Carpenters

Quantum Leap - The Lone Ranger.

but if I had to pick my all time favourite intro ever then it would have to be Video Killed The Radio Star - The Buggles.

                            I have 3 favourites:

While You See A Chance - Steve Winwood (from Arc Of A Diver album)
Let The Music Play (12inch mix) - Shannon
Is It Love You're After - Rose Royce (smapled on 'Theme from S'xpress)

                            all 3 are great!
                            Heaven knows I'm miserable now.
