  • Nightingales

After many years of dedicated prayer, animal sacrifice and burning spices and incense to the Gods, Nightingales is finally coming out on DVD in march!

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...952077-4576425

It starred Robert Lindsey, David Threlfall and someone else who's name scapes me, as night security guards. Think it was on in 89/90. I loved it when I was in school, but no one else watched it, so I had no one to talk to about it. I have a really manky VHS copy of it off the telly, forced a couple of friends to watch it recently, and they thought it was shite!

It was quite surreal, there was one episode where a young medical student comes to work there as a temp....who is also a werewolf. One of them needs a heart op, so the medical student performs it, and after he has cut the guy open, he gets a bit tempted and leans in and laps up the blood! Please tell me someone else out there liked it, that I wont be the only person getting the DVD!

I remember Nightingales I liked it but no-one I knew liked it or watched it. I remember that episode. I thought Robert Lindsay was great in it.

I used to watch this. It was on late at night I think and noone else I knew seemed to see it.
It was very surreal as I recall, but strangely compelling.

Watched first episode tonight. I can safely say it's one of the most bizarre 'comedys' I've ever seen.

They produced it, but didn't write it (nightingales, that is)

I loved the one where David Threlfall got hypnotized.

Still love Nightingales - it's brilliantly written, particularly some of the later eps - and brilliantly performed too...

I watched it and straight after, C4 were showing The Prisoner.

                              Great days.
