  • Same stuff - new name

I know theres a thread or two already on 're-branded products' but they're all over the place so I thought lets see if we can get them all in here

    To begin....

    Opal Mints became Pacers
    Marathon became Snickers
    Jif became Cif

Nestles Milky Bar ( pronunciation ) Nestles is now said as Nestlay

Add more as you remember them...

    Opal Fruits became Starburst

Oil of Ulay became Oil of Olay

Can't think of anymore right now but I'm sure I will later.

I'm sure Snaps (or something like that) became Dime (on a different note when they were Snaps there used to be a mint flavoured one too - very nice)
            Sweet Cigarettes became Candy Sticks
Treats (various flavours/types) became Minstrels (for the choc ones and the others disappeared :-( I liked the toffee ones best)

Yes, I'd noticed that too but didn't think to mention it. Thanks for that. :-)

I rediscovered them a few weeks ago (Sainsbury's) and currently have about 16 in my cupboard - just in case they try to take them away from me again. They're called Daim now.

I discovered Dimes (Daims) recently in the supermarket too but I haven't seen them in any other shops. I think Daim was the original European name for them and they changed it to Dime for the UK market. Ikea used to always sell them as Daim.
