  • Bands/Artists you never got to see-Too late now!

Who are the bands and artist now deceased/broke up you wanted to see but never got the chance.
Top of my list would have to be Elvis, as a life long fan when he died i was devastated especially as i was saving to go to the U.S. to see him the following year.

So my list has to include-

    Elvis
Little Richard (I think hes pretty much retired from rock n roll performing now)
    Buddy Holly and the Crickets
    Fats Domino
    Sam Cooke
    Otis Redding
    The Kinks
    The Supremes
    The Beach Boys
    Byrds
    The Animals
    The Doors
    Jimi Hendrix
    The Band
    Pink Floyd
    Free
    Led Zeppelin
    Simon and Garfunkel
    Slade
    Queen
    AC/DC
    The Bee Gees
    Abba
    Fleetwood Mac
    Lynard Skynard
and finally new to the list-
    Oasis

A great shame i will never get to see any of these great artist live, very sad.

Fleetwood Mac & AC/DC are still performing occasionally, but I guess they are listed as being unable to see them at their peak.

Well the peek is always better but i didn't realize Fleetwood Mac were together again.
As for AC/DC i lost interest when original lead singer Bon Scott died so there out.

As long as all members are still alive, a reunion could happen.
I've seen several bands in recent years who I thought would never reform, but did..
However, unlikely these will (not with original line-up anyway)

          Be Bop Deluxe (Bassist dead)
          Can (Guitarist dead)
Husker Du (might reform.. but I won't hold my breath)
The Associates (Singer dead. Had tickets to see them in the 80's, but they cancelled the tour)

Out of the OP's list, I've seen Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC (with Bon Scott and without), Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd

Blondie and The Police at the height of their powers in the 70s and would happily donate my body to science if I could ever get to see Talking Heads live.

The Guardian once gave away a DVD of the Stop Making Sense tour, which was great to watch.

Dexy's Midnight Runners...they were a fantastic live band, apparently.
Runrig (with original singer Donnie Munro) back in the mid-80's
                      Dusty Springfield
Kate Bush- the one and only 1979 tour
Meat Loaf- when he could perform live without imploding!
                      Eartha Kitt
Simple Minds- again back in the 80's, they're past it now!

I've seen some of the greats - Deep Purple, Focus, Queen, Uriah Heep, Hawkwind, Kevin Ayers, Jethro Tull, The Groundhogs etc. but will forever regret never having seen Ash Ra Tempel live.

Queen is the one band I really regret not seeing. I know they still perform with Paul Rodgers etc but it wouldn't be the same without Freddie, would it?
