  • David Bailey - "Dumb Animals" cinema ad

Anyone remember the 1980's anti-fur trade campaign ad filmed by David Bailey, bearing the now defunct Lynx campaign slogan "It takes up to 40 dumb Animals to make a fur coat - but only one to wear it"? It featured a glossy high class catwalk fashion show with the models wearing and dragging furs down down the runway. As they turn at the end of the catwalk, the audience gets splattered with blood dripping out of the fur coats. Made a huge impact on me at the time - I was even a member of Lynx for a few years!. You can still see the ad on YouTube. (In fact I should have found it and posted a link before typing this - I'm still a bit of a techie Luddite!)

    I do remember this ad.
I think it was very hard hitting and got the message across well.
