  • First popstar pin up

Mine was Shakin' Stevens....sigh! I used to get this comic called 'Princess'. It was out in '81 I think, it had a story in it based on Lady Diana (Rip). Think the first edition had a ring as a free gift....Anyway, there was a class poster of Shaky in it. He was wearing a pink blazer, he lovely in it I have to say. This was my first poster and my first popstar crush. I loved all his songs, Green Door and You Drive Me Crazy in particular.

My sister loved Adam Ant, our walls were plastered. Don't think I bothered sticking anyone else on my wall 'til my James Dean phase(when I was about 14. I'd loads of him on my wall.. class black and white ones.) though I did love Simon Le Bon. Don't remember him on my wall but I do remember Duran Duran stickers on a folder i used at school...it was beside Spandau Ballet and The Thompson Twins, I got them free with Weetabix.. Dunno if you got them in the Uk.

Different for Boys, to paraphrase Joe Jackson

Mine would have been Debbie Harry, in a pose with a saxophone, wearing leopard skin leggings & a red boobtube (Debbie, not the sax)

Marc Bolan. I remember Jackie did a 3 part "giant" poster of him. It was a long couple of weeks until we got the head part.

Didnt have a 'pin up' as it were but a huge Dead Kennedys 'Holiday in Cambodia' poster used to grace the wall of my bedroom for a number of years.

Started with Bros (all of them, didn't actually really fancy any of them) and a bit of Jason Donovan (also didn't really have a thing for him) before moving onto New Kids On The Block (all of them, but only fancied Jon). Then I kind of went cold on pop star pin ups and moved onto film stars, starting with a big, moody black and white picture of River Phoenix with bare chest lol.
