Aww, 'MISTER GRIMSDALE!' RIP, he was a lovely chap...

Saw a programe about him having to go into an old peoples home as he had the onset of dementia....it was part of the BBC's season of programes dedicated to the elderly in todays society, a few years back I think. All the more poigniant as my Fathers in a Nursing Home and I've experienced the difficulties, stresses and strains children face when they become the 'parent to the parent...'.

        Loved his films.

Back in the late eighties, I worked part time as a stage hand at our local civic hall. I was there when Norman Wisdom came with his touring show. He was in his 70s and still throwing himself over a grand piano! I met him briefly. He seemed very mild-mannered, even quiet.

            One of the true greats.

                  Re: R.I.P Sir Norman Wisdom

I remember BBC 2 showing his films during the afternoon and getting my mum to record them for me while I was at school, that Christmas I got one of his films called 'On The Beat' on video, brilliantly funny.

Sorry to hear of his passing, he was a true gentleman and everybody who met him said how down to earth he was and that he always made time for everyone. I will always remember his films fondly, a true great.

Oh Bless R.I.P Sir Norman Wisdom.

Years ago one of my work colleagues who was a huge fan of Sir Norman actually left work to go and be his P.A. How fantastic is that! Don't know how long for or whether she was his P.A. until he didn't need her anymore but it was her dream job.

It is very sad but he did have a good innings and strokes are very unpleasant. He leaves us lots of great, funny memories though.
Lee Evans always reminds me of Norman but he denies him as a role model.
The people of Oman don't like the Flintstones but the people of Abu Dhabi do!
