I remember in the early 80's being taken to 'Geordie Jeans' to buy some clothes. The jeans were really great. They had a brand called 'walrus' that were really trendy. In the 90's the stores were mega popular for the baggy jeans and tops fashions started by Happy Mondays et al. Can anyone else remember these stores? I'm sure they went out of business.

Ofcourse I remember Geordie Jeans! When there was a thing for coloured jeans in the early 90s I remember they had loads and I got a red pair from there. I think the stores disappeared during the late 90s. My ridiculously huge baggy jeans of the time came from the big Mark One shop in Newcastle. I used to wear them with green suede Wallaby shoes.1976 Vintage -

The first 'Geordie Jeans' store I remember was the one on Grainger street, and then one opened in the Metro Centre.
The Newcastle store closed quite a few years ago now, but I'm sure the Metro Centre store only closed a few years ago (was in Blue Quadrant, near the old cinema).Comment
