26 June will be the last day that Radio 4 will be broadcast on 198 kHz long wave.  
 
On 23 November 1978, Radio 4 swapped places with Radio 2 on long wave. It was originally broadcast on 200 kHz (1500 m) but changed to 198 kHz on 1 February 1988.

<br />
On 23 November 1978, Radio 4 swapped places with Radio 2 on long wave. It was originally broadcast on 200 kHz (1500 m) but changed to 198 kHz on 1 February 1988.<br />

Radio 4 is also broadcast on medium wave in more difficult reception areas, London, and Northern Ireland.<br />
