Hi all, wondered if anyone can help me with this. I've been trying for nearly 4 years now to find out the title of a book that I read and re-read endlessly in the late 80's / early 90's.
Basicaly it's an illustrated childrens book drawn in much the same style as 'The Snowman.' The plot (As far as I can remember ) starts with a young boy in a large house, possibly his grandfathers, and all the furniture has faces / is alive etc.
As the boy grows up, the house is demolished and built-over. The boy comes back, now grown up, with his wife and is stood on the spot where he finds a lead soldier he used to play with when he was younger.
Thats about all I can remember, I'd appreciate any help as this is sending me mad!
Thanks in advance.
