Hello everyone and this is my first post
A590 Area or Furness peninsula area around 1974/5 or 1976 was put on a 4 day week in a sweltering summer.
Milk was going off in the bottles as the milkman was handing them over.
The question is why were the large manufacturers like Vickers, Glaxo, Ashleys etc etc put on a 4 day week ?
Was it just within a localised area or the whole country ?
My father worked on the Highways for the Cumbria County Council so he was like nowadays a key worker and we got a bit of stick from it.
Thanks for looking
