Balisha Beacons, now few and far between.
Going into a music shop and being able to go into a little booth to listen to the record that you may just buy, if its any good.
Children being left outside shops in their prams/buggies. Whilst mothers do their shopping.
Blackboards in school. Sorry I should be pc and say chalkboards. ha ha.
Going into a grocery store, and asking for butter, cheese or bacon, and the assistant actually cutting it for you there and then.

I still have a milk man, but he's getting expensive and I'm sure sometimes he adds an extra few pounds on. However, his milk float is not electric.

Bin men who would go round to the back of your house, pick up the bin on their shoulders, carry it out to the truck, then come back in and put it back exactly where they got it from.

I miss the milkman in general. If we still have one I never see or hear him. When I was young our milkman had flat back petrol truck with a big step on the back. He'd hire two or three young lads to stand on the step as he drove around and they'd jump on and off to do the deliveries. I think they must have always tried to do it as fast as possible as they always jumped over the gates and walls.

I also miss hearing factory hooters going off in the morning. There were a lot of ship yards and factories where I grew up and at 7:30 about three would sound in the distance, all a few seconds out from each other. It was my signal to get out of bed!

Democracy (then again did it ever).

White dog poo - left out so long it dried up and turned white.

Songs that repeat one line until they fade out.

Songs taking a few weeks to rise in the charts.

    Ugly but talented bands.

TV going to the test card or Ceefax during the day, with that lift music.

    Punch and Judy man.
Fish and Chips wrapped in newspaper.
Big coach built prams. (All seem to be buggys these days).
    Panda Cars.
    Hot Pants.

The shop next door to me still has them delivered into a big wooden box at the rear which was the practice at the newsagents where I used to be a paperboy in the 1980s. A few months ago some oik decided to spread the returns all over our garden. Opened the front door to see the proprieter apologetically clearing the mess up (I did help him).

Those big charity boxes for the blind probably arent seen any more cause they would probably get nicked from outside the shops theses days, You dont even see bundles of Newspapers and magazines dropped off outside papershops around 5.30 in the mornings any more.
We still get powercuts where i live usually about twice a year tis quite funny when it happens and your in the middle of a Supermarket cause the staff try and gather all the customers together and escort them out but about 3 quarters of the people in there decide to take advantage of the darkness and go on a little help yourself shopping spree.

Getting cream on the top of full milk. It doesn't have that lovely layer any more . The loss of milk bottles and deliveries has also denied us seeing those blue birds with a name like boobs peck open the top to get the cream, or watching it freeze and burst the lid on cold days.

    Things that dont happen anymore......
The rent man actually coming around for his rent. Everything seems to be online, or direct debit or pay at an office nowadays.
Mothers hanging out rows of terry nappies, competition between neighbours to see who has the whitest .
A Rag and Bone man, with a horse and cart, giving out free baloons, dishes or goldfish for old rags.
All the old dears rushing out after the Rag and Bone man has been, to see if the horse has left any manure, and shoveling it up to put on the garden.
Bobbys on The Beat. Not so many this day and age, quite a rare sight where I live.
Children playing out on Christmas Day, Girls with their dolls and prams, Boys with their new bikes.
Those Charity boxes, normally a statue of a blind child with a stick, you put money in a box they were holding.

Getting funny phone calls - heavy breathers and the like. Too easy to trace them now and they probably get their kicks via the internet.

There aren't any paper boys/girls anymore.

The strange decline of the paperboy.
