To many of us, John Hughes will forever remain etched into our memories. The legendary film writer and director, who passed away on 6th August, aged just 59, brought us the kind of cult classics children of the 80s and 90s were crazy for. The following quote from him, goes a long way to suggesting why this was... Many filmmakers portray teenagers as immoral and ignorant, with pursuits that are pretty base," Hughes told a newspaper in 1985. "They seem to think that teenagers aren't very bright. But I haven't found that to be the case. I listen to kids. I respect them. I don't discount anything they say just because they're only 16 years old." From Home Alone and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, to The Breakfast Club and Uncle Buck, it's tribute to him that these films are now doing the rounds across the next generation, and being watched again by those that saw it first time round.
