The Highwayman real action-adventure TV, almost swashbuckling, and starred Sam J. Jones (Flash Gordon!). It was set in the future, but in a parallel universe, of sorts. It was summed up by some reviewers as a cross between Mad Max and Knight Rider. does that interest you? Look it up! Though it didn't interest the TV execs of the day - it only lasted 10 episodes, and had loads of cast and setting changes in that short life span.
