I remember the BBC repeated Quincy in the late 1990s.

Yes, I remember him being in the TV version of The Odd Couple. It was on in the early 70s, maybe on BBC. I think it was also repeated in the 80s as I have a vague recollection of also watching it then.
As for Quincy, yes it was a decent show. I won't say I am a big fan, but it strove to be a bit different by making the hero in a crime series not a private eye or police officer.

I have never really watched an episode of this from beginning to end, though.

Re: quincy
Quincy is still being shown in the UK on terrestrial broadcasting channel itv4 most afternoons save for live events(snooker and horse racing is periodically shown), currently as of this writing it is up to series 5 but once all episodes are shown there is a break of a few weeks before the series starts again.
I still watch it most afternoons even though I have watched most of the episodes with just a few missing from my watching enjoyment(I can catch up with these anytime).

Re: quincey
but really did enjoy the show he may have shouted but it was because he was passionate about what he believed to be right and he normally was right.

Re: quincy
His character must have been one of the least unsympathetic sympathetic character ever on TV. He was old, ugly, bad-tempered and devoid of any charm. PS. He's since snuffed it.
