Yes, big fan of that film.
The Canadains invented the genre essentially with that film.


Another very good proto-slasher is Fright (1971 British film with Susan George, Ian Bannen, Honor Blackman, John Gregson and George Cole)

I think the first movie still holds up well, providing you watch it from the perspective of someone who hasn't seen any of the 100s of slasher movies that it inspired.
Back when it was first made, mainstream audiences hadn't yet been desensitised to slasher flicks.
However, I understand that watching it in 2012, after all the slasher films that followed, it does seem very tame & plodding.
I'll always have a soft spot for the first Halloween, part 2 was not bad, but the rest are terrible.

And as it's that time of year, are there any fans of Black Christmas (1974)out there ?
A seasonal slasher movie from a few years before the genre took off.

i couldn't get into the Halloween films myself, i just found them (especially Michael Myers) extremely boring, he's just so lame, all he does is *walk, stab, choke, walk, stab, choke* -_-

i watched the first 6 and thought they were all sh*t

Almost forgot Halloween, one of my favourite horror films!

i couldn't get into the Halloween films myself, i just found them (especially Michael Myers) extremely boring, he's just so lame, all he does is *walk, stab, choke, walk, stab, choke* -_-

i watched the first 6 and thought they were all sh*t

actually ive never seen it but heard good things about it.
think i need to see that one.
been watching a lot of 70's horror lately particularly movie of the week series from the u.s.

short films but ive liked them all.

like terror on the beach with dennis weaver,where have all the people gone etc etc.

sounds like a classic one tha mate going have to look out for tha one

bewen watching lots of seventies horrors lately.

first one is killdozer from 74.
only lasts an hour and eight mins.
the bulldozer hits a mysterious piece of space rock and it then starts to drive itself and k*ll people.
real good show.

another supberb one is the devils rain
which stars william shatner and ernest borgnine.


a really good film
one id recommend.
