I vagally can remember that programme sometime during the late 60s Arthur Negus was the presenter.
Yes, but it was revived in the late 1990s as well - Michael Parkinson presented and was succeeded by Michael Aspel (the only programme apart from Give us a Clue that both Michaels have presented); and then Anne Robinson had a go, just before she started The Weakest Link.
Actually, I know that Going for a Song was an antiques game show - I meant that it sounded as if it was something to do with musIic, hence the word "song".

There was also an antiques game show called Going, Going, Gone! on around 20 years ago which was on BBC 2 in the Weakest Link slot before it started - it was presented by Andy Craig of various ITV regional news programmes, and then by the disgraced Stuart Hall.
At least David Dickinson made Bargain Hunt a cult programme when he was on it.
I have been watching Money For Nothing on Quest red.Sarah Moore is the presenter going to recycling centres to find 3 items to transform them into something different. The lucky ones who thought their junk is worthless are surprised when she knocks on their door with cash and shows them on her pad what it ,looks like now
We used to have the Antiques Roadshow and that's it - mind you, there used to be a programme on BBC 2 called Collector's World, and from old TV schedules, that was shown in the evenings.
I thought that Going for a Song was something to do with Eurovision when I first saw the title...
