Re: Saddest TV moment ever
Never cried at films or events myself, but I remember feeling super terrible when I watched the film Castaway with Tom Hanks. To date it's the most miserable hour or so of film I've seen, even beating out The Road. I felt bad watching The Road, but that was a more miserable feeling compared to the Castaway ones which felt like it was crushing my insides.

Re: Saddest TV moment ever
One of the most poignaant moments of TV has to be the final scenes in Blackadder Goes Forth. Beautifully filmed and the music just caught the moment . Still brings tears to my eyesOriginally posted by darren View Postit makes no difference to me if its fictional or not mate.
its just how things affect me i cant stop it or help it.
An old one I watch occasionally is during the 1985 Live Aid concert. David Bowie had just finished his set and introduced a video clip of what was happening in Africa, again with beautfiul music in the background. Would bring tars to a glass eye

These people are fictional, for heavens sake. Cry for the young lads coming through Wootton Bassett, not b*oody Yoda.

It's the only episode of the Royle Family that I haven't seen,Originally posted by drexl_spivey View PostIt has to be when Nana is dying in the Royle Family and everyone takes a turn of saying goodbye. Lizzy Smith totally awesome, should be Dame Liz, no doubt.
My Mum told me that it would upset me too much, so i've avoided it (even though I absolutely love the series)
Maybe i'll watch it one day when i'm feeling brave.
I remember her from Grange Hill & subsequently Holby City, she was a very talented & likable actress who could have gone on to greatness, a sad loss.Originally posted by 80sChav View PostLaura Sadler then fell to her death

Re: Saddest TV moment ever
And then a few weeks later Eric Morecambe died after doing a one man show at the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury. In the show he reminisced about his early days and at one point spoke of Tommy Cooper's death saying that he wouldn't want to die on stage. After clowning around with the band and doing six curtain calls, Eric collapsed backstage from a fatal heart attack and died in hospital several hours later.Originally posted by Retrogames View PostThe awkwardness in LesDennis who knew Cooper was probably dying right behind him was the worst part of it. I suppose cutting to a cartoon as they used to do back then would have been even more insensitive.
