Okay, it's the first of December, now we can put up the tree!
I prefer the real ones , that lovely resinous smell is so evocative. My son likes to decorate early so a proper tree would look a rather sorry sight by the 25th let alone the new year.

Here's a bit of a trip down memory...

I suppose it'd be rude not to give The Partridge Family a mention

I still quite haven't thrown in the towel as far as taking the RYA level 2 powerboat course is concerned. Relatively affordable, although saving up for a decent RIB is a different matter, not in my lifetime.
Maybe a fishing kayak, defo got to get back in the gym first though

At risk of being downbeat I've noticed a lot of brown rats knocking about recently, horrible creatures!
If we do opt for a little wild camping locally next year then it might be a case of stringing up hammocks and tarps!

On a more cheery note it's always a pleasure to see the bold...

Aquarius was an arts progamme shown on LWT during the 70s. The theme was a bit of a hit from the musical Hair.
I enjoyed the music, never sat through an episode, probably all a bit arty farty

Spot on if I may say so!
I'll not give to aggressive types, there was a fella a few months back that approached me and suggested that if I didn't give him a pound he'd be after me along with everyone else who'd " knocked him back".
Frankly I was fuming but sometimes in life discretion...

  • Which makes me think that we should include the humble roll of caps in this thread. If you look on the packaging, just above the Dinky logo you'll notice a diagram illustrating how a solitary cap placed behind the projectile would make a satisfying pop when launched.

    Caps were a toy box...

  • Do you think it might have been Shaker Maker?
I remember the advert on the TV back in the 70's. It was a kind of mixture that was poured into the mould rather than plaster of Paris. I have just had a bleary eyed Google over my first coffee and lo and behold, one of the characters available was...

Thames also produced the series Ace Of Wands, now that really had some creepy content, sad that so many episodes have been lost, seemingly forever.

Others have mentioned the Thames strong ident, I don't know if anyone remember this but there used to be a musical prelude immediately before...
